Prime Minister’s Message: Gratitude, Unity, and Youth Empowerment
Prime Minister Dr. Justin Nsengiyumva joined the congregation and delivered a heartfelt message on behalf of President of the Republic of Rwanda H.E Paul KAGAME. He conveyed the President’s greetings and thanked religious leaders for organizing such a significant event.
The Prime Minister emphasized that this gathering symbolizes the unity of Rwandans, particularly through the “Peace Plan” initiative – a framework that continues to foster reconciliation, social cohesion, and national healing.
“The Government could not have accomplished this alone. Religious communities have been essential partners in the journey of rebuilding our nation.”
Pastor Dr. Antoine RUTAYISIRE
Acknowledging Progress and The Role of Faith
Dr. Nsengiyumva expressed deep appreciation for the progress Rwanda has made. This progress spans the past 32 years since the Genocide against the Tutsi.
He noted that the Government’s achievements are significant. These include economic development, healing hearts, and rebuilding communities. However, he stressed that these accomplishments would not have been possible without the active participation of religious institutions and faith-based organizations.
While celebrating the progress, the Prime Minister also reminded religious leaders not to become lazy. He warned that the journey of national rebuilding is still ongoing. Moreover, he emphasized that sustained effort is needed from everyone.
“We once again call upon religious leaders to continue teaching Rwandans to focus on their own development and the eradication of poverty. They must also guard against those who might mislead them onto harmful paths.”
Apostle Joshua Masasu – Restauration Church
Addressing Youth Challenges: Alcohol, Drug Abuse, and Self-Respect
The Prime Minister said he is very worried about the increasing number of people drinking too much, using drugs, and the rising sale of cheap, unsafe alcoholic drinks #Icyuma throughout Rwanda.
He noted that these vices are disproportionately affecting the youth – destroying lives, breaking families, and hindering economic progress.
“These vices ruin the lives of our young people, destroy families, hinder household economic progress, and fuel other crimes and conflicts.”
He called on religious leaders to join the Government in combating these challenges by teaching values that define Rwandans and by speaking out against negative behaviors.
The Transformative Power of Faith
The Prime Minister noted that religious organizations reach a vast number of people. As a result, they play a pivotal role in transforming lives.
He urged them to continue using their voices to teach important values. These include self-respect, hard work, and responsibility.
“Together, we aspire for all Rwandans especially the youth to cherish the gift of life God has bestowed upon us. In doing so, we may use the strength He has given us to work productively and care for our families.

A National Moment of Thanksgiving
The Mega Concert was not just a musical event; it was a declaration of faith, a moment of national reflection, and a renewed commitment to building a better Rwanda.
As worshippers lifted their voices in song and prayer, the message was clear: Rwanda’s journey of healing and development continues, and faith remains at the heart of the nation’s transformation.
The organizers Pastor Jimmy Muyango, Rev. Isaie Ndayizeye, Apostle Dr. Gitwaza Paul, Pastor Antoine Rutayisire, and all the leaders of PEACE PLAN – were commended for their tireless efforts in bringing Christians together and creating a platform where the nation could collectively give thanks to God.
